Doesn't sound crazy to me.
That's the consistency I prefer...it has to be runny or it's just not going to do the job. I guess thick grease is fine if your rig gets limited use & your trying to make it leak proof but these trucks leaked when they were new...there's really no way to make them leak & maintenance free.
