The big advantage of the new tolls here are that the people using the infrastructure are paying for it. No one likes to pay more, but they already were in time as it was.

The downside is that the money that is saved by handing that cost over to a contrator doesn't mean it will stay here. If these tolls transfer $10 million/year onto the users directly, then shouldn't that saved $10 million be ours to use for some other project vice paying for repairs/upgrades somewhere else in the state?
