there was corroded spots that were pitted and off colored before I started sanding with the 600. It looks like the pits will need to be sanded completely out. I am using a 3/4" sanding pad for a backer. It could be a bad alloy but if it is ferrous there is no magnetic attraction. This is the only peice that looks like this it was on the top of the hood.
Wonder if someone could have threw grinder sparks at it??
