It's especially sad when you go to a garage sale and see tools that had been accumulated over the lifetime of a deceased craftsman, with his son asking insane prices or saying "I'm thinking about keeping this", or "we haven't decided what we're going to do with this yet", and then a few months later you go by and there's a big dumpster out back with everything throw in it, broken and rusty. Saw them do that to a locksmith's stuff a couple years ago, but the son did dump out all the boxes of key blanks to sell for scrap. Of course most of the time, they don't even bother with a yard sale. The kids just throw it all in the dumpster so they can sell the house ASAP.

The lesson to us future deceased craftsmen is to give or sell our tools and parts to people who'll appreciate them while we're still alive, because as soon as we kick the bucket, it'll be like the coyotes and crows going at a dead deer.
