You're not going to see a ton of difference with your eye between a good engine & it's parts & a worn out one. You need to measure the amount of taper in your cylinders.
The nature of any engine is the top wears more than the bottom & you need to measure & be sure it's worth spending money on parts. If it's beyond spec...just bite the bullet & have it bored.
That's the only way to know what you have. Also, measure your piston skirts to be sure they're in spec but you're going to either need a machinist with tools or to buy some fairly expensive tools that most guys aren't going to get a lot of use out of.
Definitely have it measured while it's apart...that's my advice.
