Just got back from my fire station. It closed about a week ago, and since IM recovering from a surgery, I haven't ben to work since Nov 12. I went up to get some receipts and paperwork that was due the end of Nov. Well someone thought they were doing the State a favor and since we weren't staffing the station, turned the heater off. Well my station is at 3000 ft, and lately its been snowing down to 500ft and hard freezing for four days or so.
Well since Im off duty, I turned the heater on, and informed my Chief that someone did it, and it may need to be checked tomorrow since I heard water trickling before I left.
Now the good news, we rent our fire "station" from a local rancher. Its about a 900-1000 sq ft three bedroom, two bath house. And if it has broke, it'll give us a good excuse to pressure the state to hurry up with the building of our new station. We pay 2000 a month to rent that shack, year round, and we are only in it 6 to 7 months a year.
