Nick I am pretty sure that it is a early series car alarm that is motion activated. I have see other type versions but not this old.

I had something similar on my Mustang way back when I was in high school. If memory serves me correct it was a pain in the butt with lots of false alarms. Mine was mainly for use if some one tried to jack up the car and steel the wheels and tires or back then we called them Mag's
