you cnat just replace the cap without having the rod resized. thye are machined as one. I agree with Kieth probably best just to rebuild the whole thing. that way you can shave head and put in bigger cam and transform the prerformance to a whole new level and take advantage of the higher octane fuel we have nowdays. the stock cam is designed for 70 octane. rebuild with new cam grind make huge difference.
