Less than $30 worth of steel and fine thread 5/8" bolts and a few hours got me a nice plate with receiver tube to bolt up to the rear crossmember where the pintle goes. The biggest problem was locating the receiver tube so it fits through the hole in the crossmember. The next one would take way less time. I couldn't see paying $150 plus shipping for the nice one VPW has, when I have all the tools to make one with. Well, a plasma cutter would have been nice, but the thin cutting wheel on my grinder made the hole in the plate for the tube quite easily.
Of course, a carpenter uses tools like sanders and planes, and when using a welder I need to do a little grinding to make it look decent. A picture will come when the black paint goes on.
