I wish I had planted more fruit trees when we built our house, 36 years ago. Imagine the production we would have now. I have noticed the moose do more damage to the trees. They go after the tender branches. This makes the growth progress slow. Ours are inside a fenced area with our two labs, so the moose don't try to get to the trees. But any trees, even ornamental, we try to grow outside the fence are fair game for the moose and they go after them.
