on my dodge with the hemi, around 85k miles my light started coming on intermittently, sometimes it would clear itself and sometimes i would clear it. about 5k miles later it wouldnt clear anymore. the valve spring broke on cylinder #8. the problem was traced back to a batch of suspect springs and is fairly well documented. i dont remember which serial numbers were affected though. i was lucky my valve didnt drop. truck has 147k on it now.
