The marine application is probably the best situation for the jimmy's.It is where they can run dead racked 24/7 and as long as you keep adding oil they will run forever, and they aren't to fussy about clean fuel.
We ran a pair of v20's in the long haul tugs putting out a total of 9000hp and the boats always keep spare power packs on board for the ocassional air box fire.
The company eventually changed them out for better fuel economy and newer more smog compliant engines.
When the v20's were pulling they could burn through 10, 000 gals a day, glad I didn't have to pay that fuel bill.
