Today I got to put the larger fuel tank in. Bought it a few years back, had it in a radiator shop to remove the 1/2 of varnished fuel at the bottom. Didn't treat the inside, so i hope rust doesn't become an issue later on.
So I never realized that the tank straps are different. I ended up using only two, of the original straps are "deeper". The straps that came with the tank are shallower, made the tank sit up higher and i don't think it woulda cleared the bed wood. in a few of the pics you can see the difference, the PW strap being the lower one. Anyone know the gallonage of this tank?
I also got the bed sides installed, but with this stupid time change, it was too late to take pics of it. It seemed like it didn't go on as easy as the test fit before it was painted. This one fought like crazy goin on. And I still gotta try to get the VPW hinges to fit into the tailgate.
