4 barrel carburetor

I have decided that I don't want to spend $2-3 thousand on a fuel injection conversion, and I don't want to tinker with a takeoff, so I am going to replace my old Holley 4 barrel. I have had Edelbrock recommended to me. Any ideas on that? And what CFM would be best for low end power and economy? Thanks.
