I consider myself to lean toward the purist side. But Talking technicalities, The new generation of Power Wagon based on the new Ram is more that just the winch. I wondered this myself and did some research. It appears that these trucks are actually very different, They have a different frame for starters. Then they also changed the suspension components to include some things like remote disconnects for the antiswaybar. And last but not least they have electric locking differentials.
Actually very cool trucks that are very capable, if you search youtube you can find video of these trucks on Moab trails.
