Yeah Dave thanks for the info. I have a 26' X 66' X 28' high post and beam barn erected in 1929 on a 2 acre lot on the edge of town that is 1000 paces from my place. It was the secondary barn on that farm with swinging doors all the way down the length of it, with the horse stable across the west end. It has 1 X 10 pine board and batten on the ground floor. From there up it also has 1 x 10 but no batten, but about a 1/2" gap between the boards. Therefore providing light and ventilation into the mow area.
As you say, and I can well imagine on 6" boards, that is a lot of batten, but looks better on the wider boards. It sure is a great storage building for me. Sorry but I can't tell --- "Whats Behind Closed Doors."
