I broke one short axle on my 49 B1 on pavement with 9,00 x 16 buckshots. most of my trucks have been WCs with the centered rear axle and in over 100,000 miles of driving them on and offroad never broke any axles and have carried big loads and skidded logs and other things. on my 49 with the offset rear end the truck had many many very hard miles on it before i bought it.
