there are more cars out there than one would ever think. I helped a fellow move two cadilacs a few years ago, a 29 and a 31, both 347 flat heads, both four doors and very good shape. his father had them and once a year would make the rounds on his property and pour oil in the cylinders of the more than thirty or more cars he had. the two caddys went to a barn, the rest is sitting outside rotting down. we pulled a 31 model a out of a garage that only needed a battery, one of six or seven in that shape. there was two lasalles, a 22 dodge touring car with an electric start(rare for 22) a 1910 bush, five crosleys(one w/17000 mi.) at least 3or4 tons of early chev parts. inside one part of the shops was a stack of model t diffs 7 feet high. oilers and grease cups lying around on the ground every where. there were 35 to 40 hit and miss engines there from a 25 hp charter to 1 1/2 hp hercules engines. out of all this, the only thing under cover is the two caddys, all else is sitting out in the weather rotting down. this is not a rumour or second hand, I helped do this and was the rigger and hooker for all these cars. BTW if anyone calls he will hang up on them, and if anyone says anything to him about this stuff he gets mad and walks off!! Dave.
