Doesn't matter how hard you or they try, they never fill the hole, but their very difference helps make it smaller. I've had many dogs and understand what you mean. There's only 3 or 4 that still leave a hole, but with my "new" boy (Sam is 2.5 years now) the holes are manageable again.
