I worked in a truck shop for a while doing the PTO's on the trucks that came in. the solution that Paul offered is the way to do it. some trucks are worse than others and on some it was not unusal to spend 45min. to an hour on that one nut. when you are setting up the clearance, there are two tapered nuts that will aid in getting it right. you can use these two to line up the PTO and pull it down without putting all six on. just pull the cover off of the other side to gain access to the gears from the other side. look on your PTO flange, there will be two matching holes for the tapered nuts, put them on first and save a lot of cursing. good luck, Dave.
