machinist making a short tie rod threaded on one end for the stock draglink and on the other for stock ff tie rod end, reaming the nissan pitman for the ff tie rod and turning my old tie rod off a parts truck into a good as new one
i wanted him to weld some more metal around the nissan pitman arm for the bigger tie rod end but he says there is enuff meat there and that welding on pitman arms could jeapordize the strength--but i thought nowdays there are special welding rods for this and it is not a problem--but i have been wrong before
if it works then later on i will use a ford box instead and just ream it s pitman bigger(???) for the ff tie rod end
the nissan box must need a rebuild as it is easy to turn but there is not much fluid in it but will work great for the mock up for the real deal
now all i gotta do is find a pw dual mc with a 9 in. booster and put it where the manual box used to be and then rebuild the rest of the truck
