Chrysler wasnt the first ot have eledtric startes but they were the first to make it standard equipment in the big car companies. I htink the only reason most cars didnt have them early on wasnt that they couldnt do it its that it was exepnsive. and people were not spindly armed smart phone twittering weenies like they are today. so hand cranks was not such a big deal. the combo start/generator set up was a Dodge brothers invention.
