It's a labor of love...you either love restoring vehicles or you don't. If you don't have a huge craving to do it...then don't. Definitely don't do it to save money or it'll likely end badly for you....a vehicle that doesn't get finished & ends up being sold in pieces...a divorce, etc.
it's not something you can learn. You're born with the automotive disease or you're not.
If you have the disease, you'll stop at no length to get your hands on a vehicle & regardless of it's condition, you'll have it in pieces & be working on it. When you run out of things to work on, you'll sell it because that's what the disease is about...fixing vehicles.
It may be a Power Wagon or possibly it's buying a new 2014 Hyundai & taking it apart to install a fancy stereo etc but one thing is for sure...if you have the disease, once you have it exactly the way you want it...there's absolutely no more use for that vehicle.
Ohh..family? Do not get married if your fiancé doesn't understand the ramifications of being married to someone that restores vehicles because the marriage revolves around the hobby...never the other way around. So long as everyone goes in with their eyes open, the marriage has a chance.
:)
