Just thought I'd chime in here, since I'm the guy who is selling the truck and wrote the ad copy. Feedback is ALWAYS welcome, good or bad.

First, the write-up is pure fun, nothing more. It's not intended to convince anyone of anything, but for an over-the-top truck like the Power Wagon (this is the third one we've had, and I've written balls-out on all of them) I like to have some fun with it--I'm a writer, it's what I do. Sure, 1969 Camaros are nice, but they're SO boring to write about.

On the other hand, something like the Power Wagon is so iconic, so unique, so, well, BRUTALLY RAW, that it deserves something a little special, don't you think? Sure, I could have said the paint is shiny and the engine runs well, and the wood bed is pretty, but instead everyone has fun reading the hyperbole, believers and non-believers alike. It's BY FAR the most viewed vehicle on our site, generating about 1500 views A DAY! Whether or not they're Power Wagon buyers, people are looking, staying, and seeing what else I'm selling. As far as I'm concerned, that write-up is working 100% as intended.

I know I'm either already preaching to the choir or getting burned at the stake as a heretic, and quite honestly, this truck isn't for everyone. I knew going in that purists would probably reject it and that it would get nit-picked to death by experts, and that's OK. But quite honestly, if you can afford it, please come drive it. I stand by my statement that the first guy with a fat enough wallet who drives it will take it home. It's simply INSANE to drive.

My favorite thing to do is take it out in traffic and wait for someone to get impatient with the old red pickup in front of them and try to pass me. I crack the throttle about halfway, the boost comes up, torque like the hand of God comes up and the dope next to me suddenly and sadly realizes that he just doesn't have enough horsepower to get around the big, red Dodge. THAT, my friends, is pure, insane fun. Hell, just the sound of the pop-off valves on the turbo is intoxicating.

So no, it's not for just anyone. It's not for purists, and wasn't built with you guys in mind. I will say that it's fully sorted and drives beautifully, better than any of the other Power Wagons we've had and probably as well as any restoration. It'll go 75 MPH on the highway; speed was a big liability with the originals, which, while I understand purity, can also be a pain. I have a '29 Cadillac that's dog slow, so I know that being a rolling speed bump is no fun, even encased in 6000 pounds of iron.

There's almost $100,000 wrapped up in the build, and that's no joke. Most of you know Dan Mininger and know his quality, and this truck measures up in every way. I'd hoped that most folks would appreciate 1) it's 100% Dodge, and 2) that it keeps the original Power Wagon spirit alive. There are some awful Power Wagon abominations out there (you've undoubtedly seen more than I have), but this ain't one of them.

It's marked down to about the cost of the build because the owner is very motivated to sell it--he has a family and they just don't fit in it. It's simply one of the most amazing vehicles I've ever represented. THIS is the one that I show people when they come to the shop, not the $1.7 million 1909 Rolls-Royce or the $600,000 Marmon Sixteen.

You guys already know Power Wagons are awesome. This one is just...awesomer.

PS: I agree that it needs the intercooler painted satin black and a different steering wheel. Not my call, however.

Happy motoring!
