Umm... I tried to save mine. The original was much heavier built than any new replacement. In the end it was destroyed with vice grips and a new one carefully screwed on with some Teflon tape around the the threads. I can't remember if the dremmel or hack saw was involved, might have been. No soldering, brazing, just some choice language.
