ya diesels are so much more efficient. cant beat that torque either. but I do find the flathead out in the middle of the cascades in 4 wheel drive all day climbing mountains or skidding logs in mud becomes quite an efficent set up. only uses about 1.5 gallons an hour where as my friends with V8 4x4s use double that. 4bt would probably use 1 gallon an hour.
