"Monitor". Diesel engines in the 1950's let smaller trucks move more water in the days before the Scott and interior attack became a better idea.

The Chicago FD had (has?) a famous engine called the Big Mo, basically a huge deluge gun fed by a manifold water supply. Part of the old (or not so old?) "surround and drown" tactic when interior attack couldn't be used on big hot fires or collapsed structures.

Even bigger was the FDNY "Super Pumper" from the '70s, but they couldn't keep it in water supply unless they drafted out of the rivers.
