If you really would like to get help you need to provide more information;
I assume that you have an older style PW. If so, the vin is on the outside of the frame just infront of the left front wheel in plain sight. It may be covered by paint or grease.
Dodge do not put vin or id numbers on the door. If you got a number from the door it could mean anything. Dodge put a vin tag on the cab. It is located on the front of the door frame on the drivers side. (Key point it is on the cab not the door).
You came up with a 50 2wd PW based on the number you found in the door. First of all I have never herd of a 2wd PW. Something is wrong someplace. The only number you can tend to trust is the one on the frame. People have been known to change the tags (not quite legal) or replace the cab after a wreck or etc. If the number on the door frame and frame match you might have a matching frame and cab. It is much more difficult to change the vin on the frame.
It might be helpfull to provide your locat1on or where you think the truck was from if you want anybody to look into your question about the previous owner.
