My brother and I rebuilt one in our backyard.Motors manual had a step-by-step instruction, used our drill press as an arbor press, took us 3 hours plus time to r+r it, pretty simple transmission inside. But first I'd adjust the bands, there's 3 , 2 from outside, 1 from inside the pan. You can also do pressure system checks from all those plugs on the caseing, but you'll have to tear it down all the way to fix any single problem, might as well rebuild it all the way while you're in there. Once you've fumbled through one, you'll never pay to have another overhauled. Have Fun!
