...with my '74 Ramcharger (full time 4wd, 318, 203 transfer case, and 4 speed) and saw NO improvement in mileage. As AAA stated, you have to put the transfer case in HI LOC or you will go NO WHERE. Learned that the hard way, rolled out of my driveway in neutral, put it in gear, let the clutch out and sat there.

I was told the reason I didn't see a difference in mileage was that the hubs are still be engaged and turning the axles/differential, so you still have that rolling resistance to deal with. But as they say, (I’ve always wanted to say this) your mileage may vary….
