Allen,

Since a lot of the talent on this forum are currently on the road headed to the rally, I'll take a try at this one.

Two important questions for owner.
How long has this been for sale?
Why does the owner want to sell it?
The answers may affect your offering price.

Sounds like you are looking at a Power Giant. I asume it is a Pick up. As far as I'm concerned the 59 had the best looking front end of any of the Power Wagons. Is the 318 a poly or LA? Should have come with a poly. Check for rust in the step wells, back of the cab, under the floormats/rugs, back of the fenders and frame. If its not dented/rusted to pieces, and drives smooth in all the gears, sounds like a deal. The weak point is the brakes, so take it easy the first few stops and count on doing a complete brake inspection/job right away (new lines - etc).

Usually, when someone offers something for sale at $3300, it usually means they will be happy to get $3000 for it. I would first offer $2400 for it (or $500 less than you are willing to pay for this). This of course has nothing to do with the actual value of the vehicle to you. Only you know what its worth to you.

If you want to fix it up to be a fun driver, count on spending money to get it up and reliable. If you want to restore it, count on spending a lot of money and time. But its fun!

Between all of the suppliers listed on the links section of this page and all of the talented people here. I feel confident you can get any part you need to get this truck back on the road.
Post some pictures!
My two cents
Best of Luck
