I have mine mounted inside the frame about 2 1/2 feet forward of the tank. They have to be mounted at tank level because most electric pumps are not self priming so gravity has to get fuel to them if the fuel line is empty for some reason. It is between the tank and the mechanical pump, plus I threw in a filter between tank and the electric pump. My exact mounting spot was chosen because there was already a convenient hole in the frame.
