All you have to do is jack up the rear end and watch what direction the tires spin. With both tires in the air and the trans. in neutral, spin one tire by hand clockwise. If the other tire spins the other direction, you have a conventional / open rear end. If the other tire spins in the same direction, then you have some kind of a tracion aid installed in it.
If you do have a limited slip diff. of some sort, try jacking up only one wheel. See how much force it takes to try and spin the wheel in the air by itself. This will give you some indication of how worn your limited slip is. It should be hard, if at all, to overcome the clutch action turning that free wheel by hand. If it turns without much effort, your limited slip is worn.
