I had to argue and argue with them, For some reason they kept telling me no one does that anymore and so on. The rust proofing is a light colored stuff. When I had my 96 dodge van done, at a diffrent dealer I had the same arguement and their rust proofing is the more traditional tar looking stuff. at 80,000 miles the stuff is coming off. I have to wonder how good a job they do. On the van after I picked it up I went to the car wash and made a bunch of tar streaks, You couldn't see the over spray until you wiped it.
