Couple of things to remember that I learned regarding engine storage.
Don NOT leave on an engine stand. It puts a stress on the block that is abnormal to the standard mount. Instead build a metal saddle that the engine sits in which supports the engine via the oil pan bolting flange. Put steel wheels on the saddle to move. Big problem also is that the engine stand WILL tip over, maybe not today but later. Bad for a new engine or the kid climbing on it.
Also, white lithuim grease should be used liberally inside the crankcase. Then when the engine is started, it will provide intial lubrication (if you don't precharge the oil pump)and wash away with engine oil.
Using argon/other inerts is a waste of money. Remeber the Law of Equilibrium? You will loose the argon sooner then you think.
Good Luck.
