The movie had all sorts of equipment incorrectness which of course 99.99% of the viewers won't notice. Like M43s and 3/4 ton WCs (they didn't appear till 42). And bigger, modern US DDGs and CGs tied up like they were the destroyers rafted together in West Loch. they must have built models of the BBs.
It was "OK" - not a great movie. Private Ryan was better (better on equipment realism, too) - a great movie. So was "Enemy at the Gates", a movie about Stalingrad and Zaitsev the great sniper (true story).
It's actually probably getting a bit hard to use real equipment in WW2 movies, time moves forwards. WW2 warbirds are now WAY too rare to destroy; back in the 50s they probably went for scrap metal price. WW2 trucks were abundant back then too.
