I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels free to criticize their electrical systems. The running gear was state of the art, but electricity always seemed like an afterthought to them up through the '60s. My '65 Dodge had flickery headlights until I realized that they "grounded" the headlight to the headlight trim piece, which in turn was "grounded" to the body sheet metal via some sheet metal screws which of course were rusty. Nowadays, the engineers don't even count only anything on the body being a reliable ground, but just run a complete pair of wires to whatever light or switch is out at the end.
