No. If you want one (and I think they are a good idea) make one that looks good and does the job as well. Think through what you might want to carry or otherwise do with the truck, then make something that does the job. As for the rest of the scrap iron that's on there, if you like it, keep it, your truck, your choice. A rub over with some 00 steel wool and a couple coats of satin finish clear would look good as well as protect the patina on the truck.
