Just got a temporary verizon internet set up tonight and got the gas hooked up again this morning. Been whore bathing in the front yard. Slappy and I got into Lyons yesterday with a pass (marshall law) and it is totaled. There are a few businesses on the east end that are open. Houses gone and off their foundations, cars in sink holes and bridges gone or damaged. 36 is closed at the bridge right before the turn to Lyons. I will send some pics soon. Hopefully we will have our regular internet back up in a few days. The irrigation ditch came within a few inches of flooding us out, but we are OK. The ditch flooded out the highway just a block west of us and washed out the railroad tracks. The St. Vrain was out of it's banks 100-300 yards on either side out by us. and came all the way to the railroad tracks! It has chosen new paths in some areas. Mud, broken trees, garbage and sand dunes everywhere.

message dated Thursday 9/12/2013 (almost 2 weeks ago), no electric, phone, gas or internet. Electric came back on the same day and only had internet for a couple hours. Still no phone. Anyone see me on News 31 Thurs. night? A lot of the early TV coverage was out in front of the house.
The highway out front is closed and flooded and all the news trucks
are right out front. The irrigation ditch out back is overflowing in
the neighbors yard, so keeping an eye on that. First time we have
ever 'heard' the St. Vrain from the house! It is flowing at least a
100 yards out from the banks and is washing out parts of the train
tracks. Where I can actually see the river, it is frightening. Was
hardly even flowing a few days ago. Lyons is completely cut off and
flooded. Power was out until a little while ago. I imagine Boulder is
a mess. I might get the computer and electronic stuff off the floor,
as they say this will go on for several more days.
