in the older days there were shops that specialized in carburator repair and line
mechanics did not fool with them. When these
went away most dealership shops had one tech
(mechanic) that worked on them.
when the rochester on our 64 corvette started to leak a bit I went to the Chev dealer and asked my friend (and fellow corvete guy) who
was the parts manager for a kit - he tossed one to me and when i asked for the bill he said he would add it to the price of the new carb he was ordering for me (which he did)
the bodys of the rochester would warp and they could not be fixed.
