Go to the Photo Classifieds link on this page. Scroll down to the "Sold" link at the bottom of the page. Joe has stored images of trucks sold and the asking price. Does not always mean they sold for that price, but it will give you a pretty good idea of market value.

Come down to WV rally in October if you want to see a dozen trucks or so and meet the owners. I will be happy to show you some of my trucks and give you an idea of value, etc.

Like others have said, a lot depends on your skill set and time to do the work yourself or money to farm it out. Here in the east, $5,000 used to buy a decent starter truck that was relatively complete and ran but may have needed brakes and the tank cleaned and a new exhaust system etc. to be road worthy. They seem to be hard to find in that price range anymore. The last few I purchased in that condition were between $7-$10K. Seems these days, there are a bunch of rust buckets that are nowhere near road worthy that guys put on ebay for $3-$5K. Most of these are not worth it.

Don't let the lack of a bed or running boards put you off of a truck. Matt Tisdale makes excellent reproductions, and in many cases you will be money ahead buying a good chassis cab and fitting one of Matt's beds rather than paying for a complete truck with a decent bed that will take a lot of time and money to make right.

Good luck in your search and let us know how we can help.
