I used my Starret Protractor head on the combination square set. Using it against the end of the hub you can check camber with wheels straight ahead. Then check caster by turning all they way to one lock, check, turn all the way to other lock, check, If both readings are the same your caster is zero, like the factory spec'd.

If they are not both the same, you'll need to do a bit of math to figure out the indifference- I think you need to convert it from degrees of change to furlongs per fortnight. ;)

But I don't care what kind of technology you have, mirrors or lasers, it come downs to measuring the degrees of change over a specific range of turning. Which can be done with basic shop tools.

And I use a tape measure or two sticks and a pencil to set toe.

I haven't had a personal vehicle on an alignment rack since 1976. And got 105,000 miles on a set of Goodrich TAs on my F150.
