It's just that I've seen a lot of this sort of attempt at a deal fall apart, mainly because the guy with the trucks really wants rid of them NOW and doesn't want to mess with somebody parting them out or trying to work a deal with various other people. I think it's fair to say that from the response you've gotten there's definitely enough interest in at least the yellow WC. But if you're going to get anything, you need to strike while the iron is hot. Is there any way you can find somebody nearby with a means to haul them and a yard to put them in, and a handful of pictures of Ben to offer the current owner?
Presumably the guy was going to be happy to get scrap value for them. If you get them for that price, you can still scrap them and come out even. Any good parts you get will be a bonus. Go for it!
