There used to be a surplus outfit in Federal Way that took M37s, replaced the front fenders and hood with a 1-piece fiberglass tilt-forward hood, cobbled on MU-2 winches, and put fiberglass tops on them. It was sort of a standard product they sold, sort of like some outfits sell "bobbed dueces" these days. It'd be great to discover their stash of fenders and hoods in a warehouse somewhere, but all the buildings on the site are long gone so I imagine they were scrapped. The fiberglass hood is butt ugly, but when I replaced the engine in that truck last year, I'll have to admit it was convenient.
