I got a tach (6volt) that mounts on the column to help me learn, especially down shifting.
Now I don't need it much as I have gotten experience.
If I recall the shift point for 4th to 3rd is about 2200-2300.
That is what you accelerate up to while you are in the neutral shift position after going out of 4th. Then clutch and put it in third.
Big trucks do not use the clutch expect taking off from stop, but it is different with our trucks.
