you only need to build more than 50 I believe in those days to be considered production. chevy didnt make it that year with the Z11 mystery motor Impalas, they barely missed the deadline. ford did with the Thunderbolt (might have been different year on thunderbolt but close to same year as maxwedge). the ford and chevies had aluminum noses, decklids and bumpers also.
