Maybe on top of frame in front of axle, use the M37 linkage behind the axle?
I've done a couple Saginaw conversions in the stock location. What I don't like is where the steering column comes between the pedals. I like to use the OE style bell joints to allow end play, let the cab move a bit. The bell joint hits my shoes, tickling me on turns. It's more distractive than wearing a thong. ;)
