What can you do from the OBDII

Now that I found the OBDII port, I am wondering what you can control from this port. For example, my wife's Jeep Wrangler has a very fast idle....I'd love to dial that down. Can you do this with these OBDII plug in devices? Also, can you clear errors that it records?

If so, what devices do you recommend?
