Since you are asking about hardware,I assume you are talking about the Adventurer Headliner that requires the center hanger spot welded to the roof?
If you don't need stock,I have glued up carpet with construction adhesive. It worked well.
I just cut the carpet a couple inches bigger then the recess,worked it in for a test fit,removed it,glued out to @ 4"from the edge in a spider web pattern and re installed.
