Well, we sort of do have some responsibility. If one of my neighbors, someone I saw regularly, killed himself, I'd feel some responsibility. Or at least I'd be remembering the last time I talked to him, and trying to think of any clues I might have missed. Maybe that's the difference between North Idaho and the big cities. In Seattle, somebody makes to jump off a bridge and everybody's just mad at them for causing a traffic jam. In New York, they just walk around the body. Here we actually know people.
